حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ الْبَطِينِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أُوتِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَبْعًا مِنَ الْمَثَانِي الطُّوَلِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأُوتِيَ مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام سِتًّا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمَّا أَلْقَى الْأَلْوَاحَ رُفِعَتْ ثِنْتَانِ وَبَقِيَ أَرْبَعٌ.

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو سات لمبی سورتیں دی گئیں ہیں ۱؎ اور موسیٰ ( علیہ السلام ) کو چھ دی گئی تھیں، جب انہوں نے تختیاں ( جن پر تورات لکھی ہوئی تھی ) زمین پر ڈال دیں تو دو آیتیں اٹھا لی گئیں اور چار باقی رہ گئیں۔

English Translation

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم was given seven repeated long surahs, while Moses was given six, When he threw the tablets, two of them were withdrawn and four remained.
