حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ كَثِيرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ زَوْجَ بَرِيرَةَ كَانَ حُرًّا حِينَ أُعْتِقَتْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَنَّهَا خُيِّرَتْ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ مَا أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَكُونَ مَعَهُ وَأَنَّ لِي كَذَا وَكَذَا.

Urdu Translation

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ   جس وقت بریرہ رضی اللہ عنہا آزاد ہوئی اس وقت اس کا شوہر آزاد ۱؎ تھا، اسے اختیار دیا گیا، تو اس نے کہا کہ اگر مجھے اتنا اتنا مال بھی مل جائے تب بھی میں اس کے ساتھ رہنا پسند نہ کروں گی۔

English Translation

Aishah said “Barirah’s husband was a free man when she was emancipated. She was given choice. She said “I do not like to remain with him. I have such and such (grievances)”
