Sulaiman bin Abdur-Rahman al-Dimashqi said about this tradition that al-Walid said: I heard Abu Amr al-Auzai say: The word sirrahu means beginning of the month.

حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ الْوَلِيدُ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَمْرٍو يَعْنِي الْأَوْزَاعِيَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ سِرُّهُ أَوَّلُهُ.

سلیمان بن عبدالرحمٰن نے اس حدیث کے سلسلہ میں بیان کیا ہے کہ   ولید کہتے ہیں: میں نے ابوعمرو یعنی اوزاعی کو کہتے سنا ہے کہ «سرہ»کے معنی اوائل ماہ کے ہیں۔
