حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ خَبَّابٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مُصْعَبُ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ قُتِلَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَمْ تَكُنْ لَهُ إِلَّا نَمِرَةٌ كُنَّا إِذَا غَطَّيْنَا بِهَا رَأْسَهُ خَرَجَتْ رِجْلَاهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِذَا غَطَّيْنَا رِجْلَيْهِ خَرَجَ رَأْسُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ غَطُّوا بِهَا رَأْسَهُ وَاجْعَلُوا عَلَى رِجْلَيْهِ مِنَ الْإِذْخِرِ .

Urdu Translation

خباب رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   مصعب بن عمیر رضی اللہ عنہ احد کے دن قتل کر دیے گئے، اور ان کے پاس ایک کمبل کے سوا اور کچھ نہ تھا، جب ہم ان کا سر ڈھانکتے تو ان کے دونوں پاؤں کھل جاتے اور جب دونوں پاؤں ڈھانکتے تو ان کا سر کھل جاتا، یہ دیکھ کر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اس سے ان کا سر ڈھانپ دو اور پیروں پر اذخر ڈال دو ۱؎ ۔

English Translation

Narrated Khabbab: Musab bin Umar was killed at the battle of Uhud, and for him only a coarse cloth would be found as shroud. When we covered his head, his feet showed, and when we covered his feet, his head showed. So the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Cover his head with it (cloth), and put some rushes over his feet.
