حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عُرِضَهُ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمْ يُجِزْهُ وَعُرِضَهُ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَجَازَهُ.

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   وہ غزوہ احد کے دن نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے سامنے پیش کئے گئے اس وقت ان کی عمر ( ۱۴ ) سال تھی، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے انہیں غزوہ میں شرکت کی اجازت نہیں دی، پھر وہ غزوہ خندق کے موقع پر پیش کئے گئے اس وقت وہ پندرہ سال کے ہو گئے تھے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے انہیں غزوہ میں شرکت کی اجازت دے دی۔

English Translation

Narrated Nafi: That Ibn Umar was presented before the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم on the day of Uhud, when he was fourteen years old, but he did not allow him. He was again presented to him on the day of Khandaq (the battle of Trench) when he was fifteen years old, he allowed him.
