حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَالِمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحْوَ مَعْنَاهُ إِلَى بِآبَائِكُمْ زَادَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ عُمَرُ:‏‏‏‏ فَوَاللَّهِ مَا حَلَفْتُ بِهَذَا ذَاكِرًا وَلَا آثِرًا.

Urdu Translation

عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   مجھے رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ( غیر اللہ کی قسم کھاتے ہوئے ) سنا، پھر راوی نے اسی مفہوم کی حدیث:«بآبائكم» تک بیان کی، اس میں اتنا اضافہ ہے کہ عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: قسم اللہ کی پھر میں نے نہ جان بوجھ کر اس کی قسم کھائی، اور نہ ہی کسی کی بات نقل کرتے ہوئے۔

English Translation

The tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by Ibn Umar through a different chain of narrators to the same effect up to the words by your fathers . This version adds: Umar said: I swear by Allah, I never swore by it personally or reporting it from others.
