حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ اللَّيْثِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنَا أَبِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَدِّي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ هُرْمُزَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُمَيْرٍ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ أَقْبَلْتُ أَنَا وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَسَارٍ مَوْلَى مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حتَّى دَخَلْنَا عَلَى أَبِي الْجُهَيْمِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ الصِّمَّةِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ أَبُو الْجُهَيْمِ:‏‏‏‏ أَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحْوَ بِئْرِ جَمَلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَقِيَهُ رَجُلٌ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمْ يَرُدَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامَ حَتَّى أَتَى عَلَى جِدَارٍ فَمَسَحَ بِوَجْهِهِ وَيَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ رَدَّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامَ .

Urdu Translation

بداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کے غلام عمیر کہتے ہیں کہ   میں اور ام المؤمنین میمونہ رضی اللہ عنہا کے غلام عبداللہ بن یسار دونوں ابوجہیم بن حارث بن صمہ انصاری رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس آئے تو ابوجہیم نے کہا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم بئرجمل ( مدینے کے قریب ایک جگہ کا نام ) کی طرف سے تشریف لائے تو ایک شخص آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے ملا اور اس نے آپ کو سلام کیا، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اسے سلام کا جواب نہیں دیا، یہاں تک کہ آپ ایک دیوار کے پاس آئے اور آپ نے ( دونوں ہاتھوں کو دیوار پر مار کر ) اپنے منہ اور دونوں ہاتھوں کا مسح کیا، پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس کے سلام کا جواب دیا۔

English Translation

Umair, the freed slave of Ibn Abbas, said that he heard him say: I and Abdullah bin Yasar, the freed slave of Maimunah, wife of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, came and entered upon Abu al-Juhaim bin al-Harith bin al-Simmat al-Ansari. Abu al-Juhaim said: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم came from Bir Jamal (a place near Madina) and a man met him and saluted him. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم did not return the salutation until he came to a wall and wiped his face and hands and then returned the salutation (i. e. after performing tayammum).
