حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ رُشَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاق، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو قِلَابَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي ثَابِتُ بْنُ الضَّحَّاكِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ نَذَرَ رَجُلٌ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَنْحَرَ إِبِلًا بِبُوَانَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنِّي نَذَرْتُ أَنْ أَنْحَرَ إِبِلًا بِبُوَانَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ هَلْ كَانَ فِيهَا وَثَنٌ مِن أَوْثَانِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ يُعْبَدُ ؟، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ لَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ هَلْ كَانَ فِيهَا عِيدٌ مِنْ أَعْيَادِهِمْ ؟، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ لَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ أَوْفِ بِنَذْرِكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنَّهُ لَا وَفَاءَ لِنَذْرٍ فِي مَعْصِيَةِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا فِيمَا لَا يَمْلِكُ ابْنُ آدَمَ .

Urdu Translation

ابوقلابہ کہتے ہیں کہ مجھ سے ثابت بن ضحاک نے بیان کیا ہے، وہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانہ میں ایک شخص نے نذر مانی کہ وہ بوانہ ( ایک جگہ کا نام ہے ) میں اونٹ ذبح کرے گا تو وہ شخص نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آیا اور اس نے عرض کیا کہ میں نے بوانہ میں اونٹ ذبح کرنے کی نذر مانی ہے، تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: کیا جاہلیت کے بتوں میں سے کوئی بت وہاں تھا جس کی عبادت کی جاتی تھی؟ لوگوں نے کہا: نہیں، پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: کیا کفار کی عیدوں میں سے کوئی عید وہاں منائی جاتی تھی؟ لوگوں نے کہا: نہیں، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اپنی نذر پوری کر لو البتہ گناہ کی نذر پوری کرنا جائز نہیں اور نہ اس چیز میں نذر ہے جس کا آدمی مالک نہیں ۔

English Translation

Narrated Thabit ibn ad-Dahhak: In the time of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم a man took a vow to slaughter a camel at Buwanah. So he came to the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم and said: I have taken a vow to sacrifice a camel at Buwanah. The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم asked: Did the place contain any idol worshipped in pre-Islamic times? They (the people) said: No. He asked: Was any pre-Islamic festival observed there? They replied: No. The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Fulfil your vow, for a vow to do an act of disobedience to Allah must not be fulfilled, neither must one do something over which a human being has no control.
