Sunan Abu Dawood 3808 - Foods (Kitab Al-At'imah)

حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ حَسَنٍ الْمِصِّيصِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنِي رَجُلٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْجَابِرِ بَنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَنْ نَأْكُلَ لُحُومَ الْحُمُرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَمَرَنَا أَنْ نَأْكُلَ لُحُومَ الْخَيْلِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ عَمْرٌو:‏‏‏‏ فَأَخْبَرْتُ هَذَا الْخَبَرَ أَبَا الشَّعْثَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَدْ كَانَ الْحَكَمُ الْغِفَارِيُّ فِينَا يَقُولُ هَذَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبَى ذَلِكَ الْبَحْرُ يُرِيدُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ.

Urdu Translation

جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے خیبر کے دن گھریلو گدھے کے گوشت کھانے سے منع فرمایا، اور ہمیں گھوڑے کا گوشت کھانے کا حکم دیا۔ عمرو کہتے ہیں: ابوالشعثاء کو میں نے اس حدیث سے باخبر کیا تو انہوں نے کہا: حکم غفاری بھی ہم سے یہی کہتے تھے اور اس «بحر» ( عالم ) نے اس حدیث کا انکار کیا ہے ان کی مراد ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے تھی ۱؎۔

English Translation

Jabir bin Abdullah said: On the day of Khaibar the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم forbade us to eat the flesh of domestic asses, and ordered us to eat horse-flesh. Amr said: I informed Abu al-Shatha’ about this tradition. He said: Al-Hakam al-Ghifari among us said this, and the” ocean” denied that, intending thereby Ibn’ Abbas.
