حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ يَعْنِي الْحِمَّانِيَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْعَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا بَلَغَهُ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ الشَّيْءُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَمْ يَقُلْ:‏‏‏‏ مَا بَالُ فُلَانٍ يَقُولُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَكِنْ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ مَا بَالُ أَقْوَامٍ يَقُولُونَ كَذَا وَكَذَا .

Urdu Translation

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو جب کسی شخص کے بارے میں کوئی بری بات پہنچتی تو آپ یوں نہ فرماتے: فلاں کو کیا ہوا کہ وہ ایسا کہتا ہے؟ بلکہ یوں فرماتے: لوگوں کو کیا ہو گیا ہے جو ایسا اور ایسا کہتے ہیں ۔

English Translation

Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: When the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم was informed of anything of a certain man, he would not say: What is the matter with so and so that he says? But he would say: What is the matter with the people that they say such and such?
