حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ،‏‏‏‏ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ ابْنَا أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ فِطْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُنْذِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ ابْنِ الْحَنَفِيَّةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِنْ وُلِدَ لِي مِنْ بَعْدِكَ:‏‏‏‏ وَلَدٌ أُسَمِّيهِ بِاسْمِكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأُكَنِّيهِ بِكُنْيَتِكَ،‏‏‏‏ قال:‏‏‏‏ نَعَمْ ،‏‏‏‏ وَلَمْ يَقُلْ أَبُو بَكْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

Urdu Translation

محمد بن حنفیہ کہتے ہیں کہ   علی رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: میں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! اگر آپ کے بعد میرے بیٹا پیدا ہو تو میں اس کا نام اور اس کی کنیت آپ کے نام اور آپ کی کنیت پر رکھوں؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ہاں ۔

English Translation

Muhammad bin al-Hanafiyyah quoted Ali as saying: I said: Messenger of Allah! tell me if a son is born to me after your death, may I give him your name and your kunyah? He replied: Yes. The transmitter Abu Bakr did not mention the words I said . Instead, he said: Ali said to the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم.
