حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ رُفَيْعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ تَمِيمٍ الطَّائِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ خَطِيبًا خَطَبَ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ يُطِعِ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَقَدْ رَشِدَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَنْ يَعْصِهِمَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قُمْ أَوْ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ اذْهَبْ،‏‏‏‏ فَبِئْسَ الْخَطِيبُ أَنْتَ .

Urdu Translation

عدی بن حاتم رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ   ایک خطیب نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس خطبہ دیا، تو اس نے ( خطبہ میں ) کہا:«من يطع الله ورسوله فقد رشد ومن يعصهما» جو اللہ اور اس کے رسول کی اطاعت کرتا ہے، وہ راہ راست پر ہے اور جو ان دونوں کی نافرمانی کرتا ہے ... ( ابھی اس نے اتنا ہی کہا تھا کہ ) آپ نے فرمایا: کھڑے ہو جاؤ یا یوں فرمایا: چلے جاؤ تم بہت برے خطیب ہو۱؎۔

English Translation

Adl bin Hatim said: A speaker gave sermon before the prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. He said: he who obeys Allah and his Prophet will follow the right course, and he who disobeys them. He (The prophet) said: get up; he said: go away, a bad speaker you are.
