حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ. ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَاالْأَعْمَشُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ،‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْكَذِبَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنَّ الْكَذِبَ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْفُجُورِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنَّ الْفُجُورَ يَهْدِي إِلَى النَّارِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَكْذِبُ وَيَتَحَرَّى الْكَذِبَ حَتَّى يُكْتَبَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ كَذَّابًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَلَيْكُمْ بِالصِّدْقِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنَّ الصِّدْقَ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْبِرِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنَّ الْبِرَّ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَصْدُقُ وَيَتَحَرَّى الصِّدْقَ حَتَّى يُكْتَبَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ صِدِّيقًا .

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تم جھوٹ سے بچو، اس لیے کہ جھوٹ برائی کی طرف لے جاتا ہے، اور برائی جہنم میں لے جاتی ہے، آدمی جھوٹ بولتا ہے اور جھوٹ میں لگا رہتا ہے، یہاں تک کہ وہ اللہ کے نزدیک جھوٹا لکھ دیا جاتا ہے اور سچ بولنے کو لازم کر لو اس لیے کہ سچ بھلائی اور نیکی کی طرف لے جاتا ہے اور نیکی جنت میں لے جاتی ہے، آدمی سچ بولتا ہے اور سچ بولنے ہی میں لگا رہتا ہے یہاں تک کہ وہ اللہ کے نزدیک سچا لکھ دیا جاتا ہے ۔

English Translation

Abdullah (bin Masud) reported the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: Avoid falsehood, for falsehood leads to wickedness, and wickedness to hell; and if a man continues to speak falsehood and makes falsehood his object, he will be recorded in Allah’s presence as a great liar. And adhere to truth, for truth leads to good deeds, and good deeds lead to paradise. If a man continues to speak the truth and makes truth his object, he will be recorded in Allah’s presence as eminently truthful.
