حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ خُصَيْفَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُنْتُ جَالِسًا فِي مَجْلِسٍ مِنْ مَجَالِسِ الْأَنْصَارِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَجَاءَ أَبُو مُوسَى فَزِعًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُلْنَا لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ مَا أَفْزَعَكَ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَمَرَنِي عُمَرُ أَنْ آتِيَهُ فَأَتَيْتُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَاسْتَأْذَنْتُ ثَلَاثًا فَلَمْ يُؤْذَنْ لِي فَرَجَعْتُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَنْ تَأْتِيَنِي ؟ قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ قَدْ جِئْتُ فَاسْتَأْذَنْتُ ثَلَاثًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمْ يُؤْذَنْ لِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ قال رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا اسْتَأْذَنَ أَحَدُكُمْ ثَلَاثًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمْ يُؤْذَنْ لَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلْيَرْجِعْ،‏‏‏‏ قال:‏‏‏‏ لَتَأْتِيَنَّ عَلَى هَذَا بِالْبَيِّنَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ:‏‏‏‏ لَا يَقُومُ مَعَكَ إِلَّا أَصْغَرُ الْقَوْمِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَقَامَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَعَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَشَهِدَ لَهُ.

Urdu Translation

ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   میں انصار کی مجالس میں سے ایک مجلس میں بیٹھا ہوا تھا اتنے میں ابوموسیٰ رضی اللہ عنہ گھبرائے ہوئے آئے، تو ہم نے ان سے کہا: کس چیز نے آپ کو گھبراہٹ میں ڈال دیا ہے؟ انہوں نے کہا: مجھے عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے بلا بھیجا تھا، میں ان کے پاس آیا، اور تین بار ان سے اندر آنے کی اجازت طلب کی، مگر مجھے اجازت نہ ملی تو میں لوٹ گیا ( دوبارہ ملاقات پر ) انہوں نے کہا: تم میرے پاس کیوں نہیں آئے؟ میں نے کہا: میں تو آپ کے پاس گیا تھا، تین بار اجازت مانگی، پھر مجھے اجازت نہ دی گئی، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ہے کہ جب تم میں سے کوئی تین بار اندر آنے کی اجازت مانگے اور اسے اجازت نہ ملے تو وہ لوٹ جائے ( یہ سن کر ) عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: تم اس بات کے لیے گواہ پیش کرو، اس پر ابوسعید نے کہا: ( اس کی گواہی کے لیے تو ) تمہارے ساتھ قوم کا ایک معمولی شخص ہی جا سکتا ہے، پھر ابوسعید ہی اٹھ کر ابوموسیٰ کے ساتھ گئے اور گواہی دی۔

English Translation

Abu Saeed Al-Khudri said: I was sitting in one of the meeting of the Ansar. Abu Musa came terrified. We asked him; what makes you terrified? He replied: Umar sent for me; so I went to him and asked his permission three times, but he did not permit me (to enter), so I came back. He asked; what has prevented you from coming to me? I replied: I came and asked permission three times, but it was not granted to me (so I returned). The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم has said: When one of you asks permission three times and it is not granted to him, he should go away. He (Umar’) said; establish the proof of it. So Abu Saeed said: the youngest of the people will accompany you. So Abu Saeed got up with him and testified.
