Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: He who leaves the snakes along through fear of their pursuit, does not belong to us. We have not made peace with them since we have fought with them.

حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ عِكْرِمَةَ يَرْفَعُ الْحَدِيثَ فِيمَا أَرَى إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قال رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ تَرَكَ الْحَيَّاتِ مَخَافَةَ طَلَبِهِنَّ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا،‏‏‏‏ مَا سَالَمْنَاهُنَّ مُنْذُ حَارَبْنَاهُنَّ .

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جو شخص سانپوں کو ان کے انتقام کے ڈر سے چھوڑ دے یعنی انہیں نہ مارے وہ ہم میں سے نہیں ہے، جب سے ہماری ان سے لڑائی چھڑی ہے ہم نے ان سے کبھی بھی صلح نہیں کی ہے ( وہ ہمیشہ سے موذی رہے ہیں اور موذی کا قتل ضروری ہے ) ۔
