Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: Let the best among you call the adhan for you, and the Quran-readers act as your imams.

حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عِيسَى الْحَنَفِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ أَبَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ لِيُؤَذِّنْ لَكُمْ خِيَارُكُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلْيَؤُمَّكُمْ قُرَّاؤُكُمْ .

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تم میں سے وہ لوگ اذان دیں جو تم میں بہتر ہوں، اور تمہاری امامت وہ لوگ کریں جو تم میں عالم و قاری ہوں ۔
