Sunan Abu Dawood 938 - Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat)

حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ عُتْبَةَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَحْمُودُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا الْفِرْيَابِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ صُبَيْحِ بْنِ مُحْرِزٍ الْحِمْصِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو مُصَبِّحٍ الْمَقْرَائِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُنَّا نَجْلِسُ إِلَى أَبِي زُهَيْرٍ النُّمَيْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَكَانَ مِنَ الصَّحَابَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيَتَحَدَّثُ أَحْسَنَ الْحَدِيثِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِذَا دَعَا الرَّجُلُ مِنَّا بِدُعَاءٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ اخْتِمْهُ بِآمِينَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنَّ آمِينَ مِثْلُ الطَّابَعِ عَلَى الصَّحِيفَةِ. قَالَ أَبُو زُهَيْرٍ:‏‏‏‏ أُخْبِرُكُمْ عَنْ ذَلِكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَتَيْنَا عَلَى رَجُلٍ قَدْ أَلَحَّ فِي الْمَسْأَلَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَوَقَفَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْتَمِعُ مِنْهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ أَوْجَبَ إِنْ خَتَمَ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ:‏‏‏‏ بِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ يَخْتِمُ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ بِآمِينَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنَّهُ إِنْ خَتَمَ بِآمِينَ فَقَدْ أَوْجَبَ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَانْصَرَفَ الرَّجُلُ الَّذِي سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَتَى الرَّجُلَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ اخْتِمْ يَا فُلَانُ بِآمِينَ وَأَبْشِرْ. وَهَذَا لَفْظٌ مَحْمُودٌ. قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ الْمَقْرَاءُ:‏‏‏‏ قَبِيلٌ مِنْ حِمْيَرَ.

Urdu Translation

ابومصبح مقرائی کہتے ہیں کہ   ہم ابوزہیر نمیری رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس بیٹھا کرتے تھے، وہ صحابی رسول تھے، وہ ( ہم سے ) ا چھی اچھی حدیثیں بیان کرتے تھے، جب ہم میں سے کوئی دعا کرتا تو وہ کہتے: اسے آمین پر ختم کرو، کیونکہ آمین کتاب پر لگی ہوئی مہر کی طرح ہے۔ ابوزہیر نے کہا: میں تمہیں اس کے بارے میں بتاؤں؟ ایک رات ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ نکلے، ہم لوگ ایک شخص کے پاس پہنچے جو نہایت عاجزی کے ساتھ اللہ تعالیٰ سے دعا کر رہا تھا، نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کھڑے ہو کر سننے لگے، پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اگر اس نے ( اپنی دعا پر ) مہر لگا لی تو اس کی دعا قبول ہو گئی ، اس پر ایک شخص نے پوچھا: کس چیز سے وہ مہر لگائے؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: آمین سے، اگر اس نے آمین سے ختم کیا تو اس کی دعا قبول ہو گئی ۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا یہ ارشاد سن کر وہ شخص ( جس نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پوچھا تھا ) اس آدمی کے پاس آیا جو دعا کر رہا تھا اور اس سے کہا: اے فلاں! تم اپنی دعا پر آمین کی مہر لگا لو اور خوش ہو جاؤ۔

English Translation

Narrated Abu Zuhayr an-Numayri: Abu Misbah al-Muqrai said: We used to sit in the company of Abu Zuhayr an-Numayri. He was a companion of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, and he used to narrate good traditions. Once a man from among us made a supplication. He said: End it with the utterance of Amin, for Amin is like a seal on the book. Abu Zuhayr said: I shall tell you about that. We went out with the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم one night and came upon a man who made supplication with persistence. The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم waited to hear him. The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: He will have done something which guarantees (Paradise for him) if he puts a seal to it. One of the people asked: What should he use as a seal? He replied: Amin, for if he ends it with Amin, he will do something which guarantees (Paradise for him). Then the man who questioned the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم came to the man who was supplicating, and said to him: So-and-so, end it with Amin and receive the good news. These are the words of Mahmud. Abu Dawud said: Al-Muqrai is a clan of Himyar.
