أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ بُكَيْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ نَابِلٍ صَاحِبِ الْعَبَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ صُهَيْبٍصَاحِبِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَرَرْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ،‏‏‏‏ فَرَدَّ عَلَيَّ إِشَارَةً،‏‏‏‏ وَلَا أَعْلَمُ،‏‏‏‏ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ بِإِصْبَعِهِ .

Urdu Translation

صحابی رسول صہیب رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس سے گزرا، اور آپ نماز پڑھ رہے تھے تو میں نے آپ کو سلام کیا، تو آپ نے مجھے اشارے سے جواب دیا،  ( ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہم کہتے ہیں )  اور میں یہی جانتا ہوں کہ صہیب رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنی انگلی سے اشارہ کیا۔

English Translation

It was narrated that Suhaib, the Companion of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: I passed by the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when he was praying, and greeted him with Salam. He returned my greeting with a gesture, or maybe it was just with his finger.
