It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: The Tasbih is for men, and clapping is for women. Ibn Al-Muthanna added: During the prayer.

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ،‏‏‏‏ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ التَّسْبِيحُ لِلرِّجَالِ وَالتَّصْفِيقُ لِلنِّسَاءِ زَادَ ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّى فِي الصَّلَاةِ .

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا:  سبحان اللہ کہنا مردوں کے لیے ہے، اور تالی بجانا عورتوں کے لیے ہے ۔ ابن مثنیٰ نے «في الصلاة» کا اضافہ کیا ہے  ( یعنی نماز میں ) ۔
