أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،‏‏‏‏ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا وَعِنْدَهَا جَارِيَتَانِ تَضْرِبَانِ بِدُفَّيْنِ،‏‏‏‏ فَانْتَهَرَهُمَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ دَعْهُنَّ فَإِنَّ لِكُلِّ قَوْمٍ عِيدًا .

Urdu Translation

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ   ان کے پاس دو لڑکیاں دف بجا رہی تھیں اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ان کے پاس تشریف لائے، تو ان دونوں کو ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے ڈانٹا، تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا:  انہیں چھوڑو  ( بجانے دو )  کیونکہ ہر قوم کی ایک عید ہوتی ہے   ( جس میں لوگ کھیلتے کودتے اور خوشی مناتے ہیں ) ۔

English Translation

It was narrated from 'Aishah that: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) entered upon her and there were two girls with her who were beating the duff. Abu Bakr scolded them, but the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Leave them, for every people has an 'Eid.
