It was narrated that 'Aishah said: I saw the Prophet (ﷺ) praying while sitting cross-legged.

أَخْبَرَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الْحَفَرِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ حَفْصٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْعَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي مُتَرَبِّعًا ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ:‏‏‏‏ لَا أَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا رَوَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ غَيْرَ أَبِي دَاوُدَ وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا أَحْسِبُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ إِلَّا خَطَأً وَاللَّهُ تَعَالَى أَعْلَمُ.

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ   میں نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو پالتی مار کر بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھتے دیکھا۔ ابوعبدالرحمٰن  ( نسائی )  کہتے ہیں: مجھے نہیں معلوم کہ ابوداؤد حفری کے علاوہ کسی اور نے بھی یہ حدیث روایت کی ہے، اور ابوداؤد ثقہ ہیں اس کے باوجود میں اس حدیث کو غلط ہی سمجھتا ہوں، واللہ اعلم ۱؎۔
