أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ هِشَامٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ كُفِّنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي ثَلَاثَةِ أَثْوَابٍ بِيضٍ يَمَانِيَةٍ كُرْسُفٍ لَيْسَ فِيهَا قَمِيصٌ وَلَا عِمَامَةٌ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَذُكِرَ لِعَائِشَةَ قَوْلُهُمْ:‏‏‏‏ فِي ثَوْبَيْنِ وَبُرْدٍ مِنْ حِبَرَةٍ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ قَدْ أُتِيَ بِالْبُرْدِ وَلَكِنَّهُمْ رَدُّوهُ وَلَمْ يُكَفِّنُوهُ فِيهِ.

Urdu Translation

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی الله عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو تین سفید یمنی سوتی کپڑوں میں کفنایا گیا جس میں نہ تو قمیص تھی، اور نہ عمامہ ( پگڑی ) ، ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے دو کپڑوں اور ایک یمنی چادر کے متعلق لوگوں کی گفتگو کا ذکر کیا گیا، تو انہوں نے کہا: چادر لائی گئی تھی لیکن لوگوں نے اسے لوٹا دیا، اور آپ کو اس میں نہیں کفنایا تھا۔

English Translation

Hisham narrated from his father, from 'Aishah that: the Messenger of Allah was shrouded in three white Yemeni garments of cotton, among which was no shirt and no turban. It was mentioned to 'Aishah that they said: He was buried in two garments and a Burd made of Hibrah. She said: A Burd was brought, but they sent it back and did not shroud him in it.
