أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي لَبِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ أَخْبِرِينِي عَنْ صِيَامِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ يَصُومُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ قَدْ صَامَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيُفْطِرُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ قَدْ أَفْطَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَمْ يَكُنْ يَصُومُ شَهْرًا أَكْثَرَ مِنْ شَعْبَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏كَانَ يَصُومُ شَعْبَانَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏كَانَ يَصُومُ شَعْبَانَ كُلَّهُ .

Urdu Translation

ابوسلمہ بن عبدالرحمٰن بن عوف کہتے ہیں کہ   میں نے عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے پوچھا، میں نے کہا: مجھے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے روزوں کے بارے میں بتائیے؟ تو انہوں نے کہا: آپ ( اس تسلسل سے ) روزے رکھتے کہ ہم سمجھتے اب آپ روزے ہی رکھتے رہیں گے، اور آپ ( اس تسلسل سے ) بلا روزے کے رہتے کہ ہم سمجھتے ( اب ) آپ بغیر روزے ہی کے رہیں گے، آپ کسی مہینے میں شعبان سے زیادہ روزے نہیں رکھتے، سوائے چند دنوں چھوڑ کے آپ پورے شعبان ہی روزے رکھتے۔

English Translation

It was narrated that Abu Salamah said: I asked Aishah: 'Tell me about the fasting of the Messenger of Allah.' She said: 'he used to fast until we said: he is going to fast until we said: He is not going to fast. He never fasted any month more than Shaban. He used to fast (all) of Shaban except a little, he used to fast all of Shaban. ' '
