أَخْبَرَنِي مَحْمُودُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَرْوَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنْبَأَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ سَلَّامٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ قَامَ شَهْرَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَنْ قَامَ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ .

Urdu Translation

ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جس نے رمضان کے مہینہ میں ایمان کے ساتھ ثواب کی نیت سے قیام اللیل کیا، یعنی نماز تراویح پڑھی، اس کے پچھلے گناہ بخش دیے جائیں گے، اور جو شب قدر میں ایمان کے ساتھ ثواب کی نیت سے ( عبادت پر ) کمربستہ ہو گا اس کے ( بھی ) پچھلے گناہ بخش دئیے جائیں گے“۔

English Translation

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever spends the nights of Ramadan in prayer (Qiyam) out of faith and in the hope of reward, he will be forgiven his previous sins, and whoever spends the night of Lailat Al-Qadr in prayer out of faith and in the hope of reward, he will be forgiven his previous sins. '
