أَخْبَرَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيِّبِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ:‏‏‏‏ كُلُّ عَمَلِ ابْنِ آدَمَ لَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِلَّا الصِّيَامَ هُوَ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَخُلْفَةُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ .

Urdu Translation

ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا: ”اللہ تعالیٰ فرماتا ہے: آدمی کا ہر عمل اسی کے لیے ہے، سوائے روزہ کے وہ میرے لیے ہے، اور میں خود ہی اس کا بدلہ دوں گا اور قسم ہے اس ذات کی جس کے ہاتھ میں محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی جان ہے، روزہ دار کے منہ کی بو اللہ کے نزدیک مشک کی بو سے بھی زیادہ پاکیزہ ہے“۔

English Translation

Abu Hurairah said: I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Allah, the mighty and sublime, said: Every deed of the son of Adam is for him, except fasting; it is for me and I shall reward for it. By the one in whose hand is the soul of Muhmmad, the smell coming from the mouth of the fasting person is better before Allah than the fragrance of musk. '
