أَخْبَرَنِي زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْحُرِّ بْنِ صَيَّاحٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ هُنَيْدَةَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ امْرَأَتِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَتْنِي بَعْضُ نِسَاءِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَصُومُ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَتِسْعًا مِنْ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ أَوَّلَ اثْنَيْنِ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ وَخَمِيسَيْنِ .

Urdu Translation

نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی ایک زوجہ مطہرہ (ام المؤمنین رضی الله عنہا) کہتی ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم عاشوراء کے روز، ذی الحجہ کے نو دنوں میں، ہر مہینے کے تین دنوں میں یعنی: مہینہ کے پہلے دوشنبہ ( پیر ) کو اور پہلے اور دوسرے جمعرات کو روزہ رکھتے تھے۔

English Translation

It was narrated from Hunaidah bin Khalid that his wife said: One of the wives of the Prophet said: The Prophet used to fast on the day of 'Ashura, nine days of Dhul-Hijjiah and three days each month: The first Monday of the month, and two Thursday.
