أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ سَأَلَ وَلَهُ مَا يُغْنِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏جَاءَتْ خُمُوشًا أَوْ كُدُوحًا فِي وَجْهِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ،‏‏‏‏ قِيلَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ! وَمَاذَا يُغْنِيهِ أَوْ مَاذَا أَغْنَاهُ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ خَمْسُونَ دِرْهَمًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَوْ حِسَابُهَا مِنَ الذَّهَبِ ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ يَحْيَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سُفْيَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَسَمِعْتُ زُبَيْدًا يُحَدِّثُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ.

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جو مانگے اور اس کے پاس ایسی چیز ہو جو اسے مانگنے سے بے نیاز کرتی ہو، تو وہ قیامت کے دن اپنے چہرے پر خراشیں لے کر آئے گا“، عرض کیا گیا: اللہ کے رسول! کتنا مال ہو تو اسے غنی ( مالدار ) سمجھا جائے گا؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”پچاس درہم، یا اس کی قیمت کا سونا ہو“۔ یحییٰ بن آدم کہتے ہیں: سفیان ثوری نے کہا کہ میں نے زبید سے بھی سنا ہے، وہ محمد بن عبدالرحمٰن بن یزید کے واسطہ سے ( یہ حدیث ) بیان کر رہے تھے۔

English Translation

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud said: The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever asks when he has enough to make him independent of means will have lacerations on his face on the Day of Resurrection.' It was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what would make him independent of means?' He said: 'Fifty Dirhams or its equivalent of gold. '
