أَخْبَرَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْبَرَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُنْتُ مَعَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ حِينَ أَمَّرَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْيَمَنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ عَلِيٌّ:‏‏‏‏ فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ كَيْفَ صَنَعْتَ ؟ قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ أَهْلَلْتُ بِإِهْلَالِكَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَإِنِّي سُقْتُ الْهَدْيَ وَقَرَنْتُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَقَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأَصْحَابِهِ:‏‏‏‏ لَوِ اسْتَقْبَلْتُ مِنْ أَمْرِي مَا اسْتَدْبَرْتُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَفَعَلْتُ كَمَا فَعَلْتُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَكِنِّي سُقْتُ الْهَدْيَ وَقَرَنْتُ .

Urdu Translation

براء بن عازب رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   میں علی بن ابی طالب رضی اللہ عنہ کے ساتھ تھا جس وقت رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے انہیں یمن کا حاکم بنایا، پھر جب وہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئے، علی رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: تو میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آیا، تو آپ نے مجھ سے پوچھا: ”تم نے کیسے کیا ہے؟“ یعنی کس چیز کا تلبیہ پکارا ہے، میں نے کہا: میں نے آپ کا تلبیہ پکارا ہے ( یعنی آپ کے احرام کے مطابق احرام باندھا ہے ) ، آپ نے فرمایا: ”میں تو ہدی ساتھ لایا ہوں، اور میں نے قِران کیا ہے“، اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنے اصحاب سے فرمایا: ”اگر مجھے پہلے وہ باتیں معلوم ہوئی ہوتیں جواب معلوم ہوئی ہیں تو میں بھی ویسے ہی کرتا جیسے تم نے کیا ہے ۱؎ لیکن میں ہدی ساتھ لایا ہوں، اور میں نے حج قِران کا احرام باندھ رکھا ہے“۔

English Translation

It was narrated that Al-Bara said: I was with 'Ali bin Abi Talib when the Messenger of All appointed him as governor of Yemen. When he came to the Messenger of Allah, Ali said: 'I came to the Messenger of and the Messenger of Allah said: What did you do? I said; I entered Ihram for that for which you entered Ihram. He said: I have brought the Hadi and am performing Qiran And he said to his companions: If I had known what I know now, I would have done what you have done, but I brought the Hadi and I am performing Qiran
