It was narrated that Aishah said: We went out with the Messenger of Allah not thinking of anything but Hajj. When we drew close to Makkah, the Messenger of Allah ordered: 'Whoever has a Hadi with him should remain in Ihram, and whoever does not have a Hadi with him, he should exit Ihram.

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يَحْيَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَمْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا نُرَى إِلَّا أَنَّهُ الْحَجُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمَّا دَنَوْنَا مِنْ مَكَّةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ كَانَ مَعَهُ هَدْيٌ أَنْ يُقِيمَ عَلَى إِحْرَامِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَهُ هَدْيٌ أَنْ يَحِلَّ .

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی الله عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ   ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ نکلے، ہمارے پیش نظر صرف حج تھا، تو جب ہم مکہ کے قریب پہنچے تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے جن کے ساتھ ہدی تھی انہیں اپنے احرام پر قائم رہنے کا حکم دیا، اور جن کے ساتھ ہدی نہیں تھی انہیں احرام کھول دینے کا حکم دیا۔
