أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ انْطَلَقَ أَبِي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَامَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَحْرَمَ أَصْحَابُهُ وَلَمْ يُحْرِمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَبَيْنَمَا أَنَا مَعَ أَصْحَابِي ضَحِكَ بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَى بَعْضٍ فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا حِمَارُ وَحْشٍ فَطَعَنْتُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَاسْتَعَنْتُهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَبَوْا أَنْ يُعِينُونِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَكَلْنَا مِنْ لَحْمِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَخَشِينَا أَنْ نُقْتَطَعَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَطَلَبْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُرَفِّعُ فَرَسِي شَأْوًا وَأَسِيرُ شَأْوًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَقِيتُ رَجُلًا مِنْ غِفَارٍ فِي جَوْفِ اللَّيْلِ فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ أَيْنَ تَرَكْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ تَرَكْتُهُ وَهُوَ قَائِلٌ بِالسُّقْيَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَحِقْتُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ أَصْحَابَكَ يَقْرَءُونَ عَلَيْكَ السَّلَامَ وَرَحْمَةَ اللَّهِ وَإِنَّهُمْ قَدْ خَشُوا أَنْ يُقْتَطَعُوا دُونَكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَانْتَظِرْهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَانْتَظَرَهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حِمَارَ وَحْشٍ وَعِنْدِي مِنْهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ لِلْقَوْمِ:‏‏‏‏ كُلُوا وَهُمْ مُحْرِمُونَ .

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن ابی قتادہ کہتے ہیں کہ   میرے والد صلح حدیبیہ کے سال رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ چلے تو ان کے ساتھیوں نے احرام باندھ لیا لیکن انہوں نے نہیں باندھا، ( ان کا بیان ہے ) کہ میں اپنے اصحاب کے ساتھ تھا کہ اسی دوران ہمارے اصحاب ایک دوسرے کی طرف دیکھ کر ہنسے، میں نے نظر اٹھائی تو اچانک ایک نیل گائے مجھے دکھائی پڑا، میں نے اسے نیزہ مارا اور ( اسے پکڑنے اور ذبح کرنے کے لیے ) ان سے مدد چاہی تو انہوں نے میری مدد کرنے سے انکار کیا پھر ہم سب نے اس کا گوشت کھایا، اور ہمیں ڈر ہوا کہ ہم کہیں لوٹ نہ لیے جائیں تو میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا ساتھ پکڑنا چاہا کبھی میں اپنا گھوڑا تیز بھگاتا اور کبھی عام رفتار سے چلتا تو میری ملاقات کافی رات گئے قبیلہ غفار کے ایک شخص سے ہوئی میں نے اس سے پوچھا: تم نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو کہاں چھوڑا ہے؟ اس نے کہا: میں نے آپ کو مقام سقیا میں قیلولہ کرتے ہوئے چھوڑا ہے، چنانچہ میں جا کر آپ سے مل گیا، اور میں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! آپ کے صحابہ آپ کو سلام عرض کرتے ہیں اور آپ کے لیے اللہ کی رحمت کی دعا کرتے ہیں اور وہ ڈر رہے ہیں کہ وہ کہیں آپ سے پیچھے رہ جانے پر لوٹ نہ لیے جائیں، تو آپ ذرا ٹھہر کر ان کا انتظار کر لیجئیے تو آپ نے ان کا انتظار کیا۔ پھر میں نے آپ سے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! ( راستے میں ) میں نے ایک نیل گائے کا شکار کیا اور میرے پاس اس کا کچھ گوشت موجود ہے، تو آپ نے لوگوں سے کہا: ”کھاؤ“ اور وہ لوگ احرام باندھے ہوئے تھے۔

English Translation

It was narrated that Abdullah bin Abi Qatadah said: My father set out with the Messenger of Allah in the year of Al-Hudaybiyah, and his companions entered Ihram, but he did not. (He said:) 'While I was with my companions, some of them laughed at others. I looked and saw an onager. I stabbed it then asked them to help, but they refused to help me. We ate from its meat, and we were afraid that we would be intercepted (by the enemy) so I followed the Messenger of Allah, sometimes making my horse gallop and sometimes traveling at a regular place. I met a man from Ghifar at midnight and said: Where did you leave the Messenger of Allah? He said: I left him when he was napping in As-Suqya. I caught up with him and said: O messenger of Allah! Your Companions convey their greetings of Salam to you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. They were afraid that they may be intercepted and cut off from you, so wait for them. Then I said: O Messenger of Allah, I caught an onager and I have some of it. He said to the People: Eat, and they were I Ihram.'
