أَخْبَرَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ تَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ إِنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَوْلَا أَنَّ النَّاسَ حَدِيثٌ عَهْدُهُمْ بِكُفْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَيْسَ عِنْدِي مِنَ النَّفَقَةِ مَا يُقَوِّي عَلَى بِنَائِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَكُنْتُ أَدْخَلْتُ فِيهِ مِنَ الْحِجْرِ خَمْسَةَ أَذْرُعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَجَعَلْتُ لَهُ بَابًا يَدْخُلُ النَّاسُ مِنْهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَبَابًا يَخْرُجُونَ مِنْهُ .

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن زبیر رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   میں نے ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کو کہتے سنا کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اگر لوگوں کا زمانہ کفر سے قریب نہ ہوتا اور میرے پاس اسے ٹھوس اور مستحکم بنانے کے لیے اخراجات کی کمی نہ ہوتی تو میں حطیم میں سے پانچ ہاتھ خانہ کعبہ میں ضرور شامل کر دیتا اور اس میں ایک دروازہ بنا دیتا جس سے لوگ اندر جاتے اور ایک دروازہ جس سے لوگ باہر آتے“۔

English Translation

Aishah said: The Prophet said: 'Were it not for the fact that the people have recently left disbelief, and that I do not have enough funds to enable me to build it. I would have incorporated five cubits of the Hijr in it, and given it a door through which the people could enter, and another door through which they exit.'
