أَخْبَرَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ الْوَزِيرِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ كَثِيرِ بْنِ عُفَيْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَنَسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ رَأَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَيَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏كَأَنَّهُ يَعْنِي عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ أَثَرَ صُفْرَةٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَهْيَمْ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ تَزَوَّجْتُ امْرَأَةً مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَوْلِمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ .

Urdu Translation

انس رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھ پر زردی کا اثر دیکھا ( مجھ سے مراد عبدالرحمٰن بن عوف ہیں ) پوچھا یہ کیا ہے؟ انہوں نے کہا میں نے ایک انصاری عورت سے شادی کی ہے ( یہ اسی کا نشان ہے ) ، آپ نے فرمایا: ”ولیمہ کرو اگرچہ ایک بکری ہو“۔

English Translation

It was narrated that Anas said: The Messenger of Allah saw a trace of yellow perfume on me -as if he meant 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf- and said: 'What's this for?' He said: 'I have married a woman from among the Ansar.' He said: 'Give a Walimah (wedding feast) even if it is with one sheep.'
