It was narrated from 'Abdullah that the shorter Surah, that speaks of women (At-Talaq), was revealed after Al-Baqarah.

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ سَيْفٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَعْيَنَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ. ح وأَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاق، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَسْرُوقٌ،‏‏‏‏ وَعَبِيدَةُ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ أَنّ سُورَةَ النِّسَاءِ الْقُصْرَى نَزَلَتْ بَعْدَ الْبَقَرَةِ .

عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نسائی ( یعنی طلاق ) کی چھوٹی سورۃ البقرہ کی ( بڑی ) سورۃ کے بعد نازل ہوئی ہے۔
