أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَمَّارٍ الدُّهْنِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ سُئِلَ عَمَّنْ قَتَلَ مُؤْمِنًا مُتَعَمِّدًا ثُمَّ تَابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا ثُمَّ اهْتَدَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ:‏‏‏‏ وَأَنَّى لَهُ التَّوْبَةُ ! سَمِعْتُ نَبِيَّكُمْ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ يَجِيءُ مُتَعَلِّقًا بِالْقَاتِلِ تَشْخَبُ أَوْدَاجُهُ دَمًا فَيَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ أَيْ رَبِّ سَلْ هَذَا فِيمَ قَتَلَنِي ،‏‏‏‏ ثُمَّ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ أَنْزَلَهَا اللَّهُ ثُمَّ مَا نَسَخَهَا .

Urdu Translation

سالم بن ابی الجعد سے روایت ہے کہ   ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے اس شخص کے بارے میں پوچھا کیا گیا جس نے کسی مومن کو جان بوجھ کر قتل کیا، پھر توبہ کی، ایمان لایا، اور نیک عمل کئے پھر راہ راست پر آ گیا؟ ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہا: اس کی توبہ کہاں ہے؟ میں نے تمہارے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے سنا ہے:  وہ قاتل کو پکڑے آئے گا اور اس کی گردن کی رگوں سے خون بہہ رہا ہو گا، تو وہ کہے گا: اے میرے رب! اس سے پوچھ، اس نے مجھے کیوں قتل کیا؟  پھر  ( ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے )  کہا: اللہ تعالیٰ نے اس آیت  ( «ومن يقتل مؤمنا متعمدا...» )  کو نازل کیا اور اسے منسوخ نہیں کیا ۱؎۔

English Translation

It was narrated from Salim bin Abi Ja'd that: Ibn 'Abbas was asked about someone who killed a believer deliberately, then he repented, believed and did righteous deeds, and followed true guidance. Ibn 'Abbas said: There is no way the repentance could avail him! I heard the Prophet [SAW] say: 'He (the victim) will come hanging onto his killer, with his jugular veins flowing with blood and saying: O Lord, ask him why he killed me. Then he said: By Allah, Allah revealed it and never abrogated anything of it.'
