Baab Zaib O Zeenat Aur Araish Ke Ehkaam O Masail

أَخْبَرَنَا قَتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل بْنِ سُمَيْعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ صَعْصَعَةُ بْنُ صُوحَانَ لِعَلِيّ:‏‏‏‏ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ،‏‏‏‏ انْهَنَا عَمَّا نَهَاكَ عَنْهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ نَهَانَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الدُّبَّاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْحَنْتَمِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْجِعَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَنْ حِلَقِ الذَّهَبِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلُبْسِ الْحَرِيرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَنِ الْمِيثَرَةِ الْحَمْرَاءِ . قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ مَرْوَانَ،‏‏‏‏ وَعَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ أَوْلَى بِالصَّوَابِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ إِسْرَائِيلَ.

Urdu Translation

مالک بن عمیر کہتے ہیں کہ   صعصعہ بن صوحان نے علی رضی اللہ عنہ سے کہا کہ امیر المؤمنین! ہمیں اس چیز سے منع فرمائیے جس چیز سے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے آپ کو منع فرمایا تو وہ بولے: ہمیں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے کدو سے بنے، اور سبز رنگ والے برتن کے استعمال سے اور جو اور گیہوں سے بنی شراب کے پینے سے، سونے کے چھلے، ریشمی لباس اور سرخ زین کے استعمال سے منع فرمایا۔ ابوعبدالرحمٰن ( نسائی ) کہتے ہیں: مروان اور عبدالواحد کی روایت ( نمبر ۵۱۷۳ و ۵۱۷۴ ) اسرائیل کی روایت ( نمبر ۵۱۷۲ ) سے زیادہ قرین صواب ہے۔

English Translation

Sa'sa'ah bin Suwhan said to 'Ali: O Commander of the Believers! Forbid us from that which the Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbade you from. He said: He forbade us from Ad-Dubba, Al-Hantam, Al-Ji'ah, and from gold circles (rings), and from wearing silk, and from red Al-Mitharah.
