Baab Zaib O Zeenat Aur Araish Ke Ehkaam O Masail

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاق، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُنْتُ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَرَآنِي رَثَّ الثِّيَابِ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَلَكَ مَالٌ ؟ ،‏‏‏‏ قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ نَعَمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَالِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَإِذَا آتَاكَ اللَّهُ مَالًا فَلْيُرَ أَثَرُهُ عَلَيْكَ .

Urdu Translation

ابوالاحوص کے والد مالک بن نضلہ جشمی رضی اللہ عنہ روایت کرتے ہیں کہ میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس بیٹھا ہوا تھا، آپ نے مجھے پھٹے کپڑے پہنے دیکھا تو فرمایا: ”کیا تمہارے پاس مال و دولت ہے؟“ میں نے کہا: جی ہاں، اللہ کے رسول! سب کچھ ہے، آپ نے فرمایا: ”جب تمہیں اللہ تعالیٰ نے سب کچھ دیا ہے تو اس کے آثار بھی تمہارے اوپر ہونے چاہئیں“ ۱؎۔

English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Al-Ahwas that his father said: I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah [SAW] and he saw that I was dressed in scruffy clothes. He said: 'Do you have any wealth?' I said: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah, all kinds of wealth.' He said: 'If Allah gives you wealth then let its effect be seen on you.'
