أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ سَنَةَ سَبْعٍ وَمِائَتَيْنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا الصَّعْقُ بْنُ حَزْنٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَلِيٍّ الْبَارِقِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَتَتْنِي امْرَأَةٌ تَسْتَفْتِينِي،‏‏‏‏ فَقُلْتُ لَهَا:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا ابْنُ عُمَرَ:‏‏‏‏،‏‏‏‏ فَاتَّبَعَتْهُ تَسْأَلُهُ،‏‏‏‏ وَاتَّبَعْتُهَا أَسْمَعُ مَا يَقُولُ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ أَفْتِنِي فِي الْحَرِيرِ ؟،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ نَهَى عَنْهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .

Urdu Translation

علی بارقی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   ایک عورت میرے پاس مسئلہ پوچھنے آئی تو میں نے اس سے کہا: یہ ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما ہیں، ( ان سے پوچھ لو ) وہ مسئلہ پوچھنے ان کے پیچھے گئی اور میں بھی اس کے پیچھے گیا تاکہ وہ جو کہیں اسے سنوں، وہ بولی: مجھے حریر نامی ریشم کے بارے میں بتائیے، ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس سے منع فرمایا ہے۔

English Translation

It was narrated that 'Ali Al-Bariqi said: A woman came to me to ask a question, and I said to her: 'There is Ibn 'Umar.' So she went after him to ask him, and I went after her to hear what he would say. She said: 'Tell me about silk.' He said: 'The Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbade it.'
