أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ عَاصِمَ بْنَ كُلَيْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ قُلْ:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُمَّ سَدِّدْنِي وَاهْدِنِي ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَنَهَانِي عَنِ الْجُلُوسِ عَلَى الْمَيَاثِرِ،‏‏‏‏ وَالْمَيَاثِرُ:‏‏‏‏ قَسِّيٌّ كَانَتْ تَصْنَعُهُ النِّسَاءُ لِبُعُولَتِهِنَّ عَلَى الرَّحْلِ،‏‏‏‏ كَالْقَطَائِفِ مِنَ الْأُرْجُوَانِ.

Urdu Translation

علی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھ سے فرمایا: کہو: ” «اللہم سددني واهدني» اے اللہ مجھے درست رکھ اور ہدایت عطا کر“ اور آپ نے مجھے «میاثر» پر بیٹھنے سے منع فرمایا، «میاثر» ایک قسم کا ریشمی کپڑا ہے، جسے عورتیں اپنے شوہروں کے لیے پالان پر ڈالنے کے لیے بناتی تھیں۔ جیسے گلابی رنگ کی چھوردار چادریں۔

English Translation

It was narrated that 'Ali said: The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said to me: Say: O Allah, make me steadfast and guide me. And he forbade me to sit on Al-Mayathir. Al-Mayathir: Qassi which the women used to put on the saddles for their husbands, such as red cushions.
