It was narrated that 'Aishah said: Hind came to the Messenger of Allah [SAW] and said : 'O Messenger of Allah, Abu Sufyan is a stingy man who does not spend enough on my child and I. Can I take from his wealth without him realizing?' He said: 'Take what is sufficient for you and your child on a reasonable basis.'

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا وَكِيعٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ جَاءَتْ هِنْدٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ،‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ أَبَا سُفْيَانَ رَجُلٌ شَحِيحٌ،‏‏‏‏ وَلَا يُنْفِقُ عَلَيَّ وَوَلَدِي مَا يَكْفِينِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَفَآخُذُ مِنْ مَالِهِ وَلَا يَشْعُرُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ خُذِي مَا يَكْفِيكِ وَوَلَدِكِ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ .

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ   ہند رضی اللہ عنہا نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آ کر کہا: اللہ کے رسول! ابوسفیان بخیل شخص ہیں، وہ مجھ پر اور میرے بچوں پر اس قدر نہیں خرچ کرتے ہیں جو کافی ہو، تو کیا میں ان کے مال میں سے کچھ لے لیا کروں اور انہیں پتا بھی نہ چلے؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”بھلائی کے ساتھ اس قدر لے لو کہ تمہارے لیے اور تمہارے بچوں کے لیے کافی ہو“ ۱؎۔
