أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا مَنْصُورٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَالِيَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ غَيْرَ وَاحِدٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْهُمْ عُمَرُ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَحَبِّهِمْ إِلَيَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ بَعْدَ الْفَجْرِ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَنِ الصَّلَاةِ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ .

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہم کہتے ہیں کہ   میں نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے کئی صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہم سے سنا ہے، جن میں عمر رضی اللہ عنہ بھی ہیں اور وہ میرے نزدیک سب سے محبوب تھے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فجر کے بعد نماز سے منع فرمایا ہے یہاں تک کہ سورج نکل آئے ۱؎، اور عصر کے بعد نماز سے منع فرمایا، یہاں تک کہ سورج ڈوب جائے۔

English Translation

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: I heard more than one of the Companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) - including 'Umar who was one of the dearest of them to me - that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade praying after Fajr until the sun had risen, and praying after 'Asr until the sun had set.
