أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ مَيْمُونِ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ حَنْبَلٍ قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا رَبَاحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ أَبِي وَدَاعَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْأَبِيهِ قال:‏‏‏‏ قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَكَّةَ سُورَةَ النَّجْمِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَسَجَدَ وَسَجَدَ مَنْ عِنْدَهُ فَرَفَعْتُ رَأْسِي وَأَبَيْتُ أَنْ أَسْجُدَ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَسْلَمَ الْمُطَّلِبُ .

Urdu Translation

مطلب بن ابی وداعہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مکہ میں سورۃ النجم پڑھی، تو آپ نے سجدہ کیا، اور جو لوگ آپ کے پاس تھے انہوں نے بھی سجدہ کیا، لیکن میں نے اپنا سر اٹھائے رکھا، اور سجدہ کرنے سے انکار کیا،  ( راوی کہتے ہیں )  ان دنوں مطلب نے اسلام قبول نہیں کیا تھا۔

English Translation

It was narrated from Ja'far bin Al-Muttalib bin Abi Wada'ah that: His father said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) recited Surat An-Najm in Makkah and prostrated, and those who were with him prostrated. I raised my head and refused to prostrate. At that time Al-Muttalib had not yet accepted Islam.
