It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Prophet (ﷺ) forbade wearing weapons in the Muslim lands on the two ‘Eid, except if the enemy was present.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْقُدُّوسِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا نَائِلُ بْنُ نَجِيحٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ زِيَادٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ نَهَى أَنْ يُلْبَسَ السِّلَاحُ فِي بِلَادِ الْإِسْلَامِ فِي الْعِيدَيْنِ إِلَّا أَنْ يَكُونُوا بِحَضْرَةِ الْعَدُوِّ .

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اسلامی شہروں میں عیدین کے دنوں میں ہتھیار باندھ کر جانے سے منع فرمایا، الا یہ کہ دشمن کا سامنا ہو۔
