It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said: “The Prophet (ﷺ) used to pray the night prayer two Rak’ah by two Rak’ah.”

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ وَكِيعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَثَّامُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي بِاللَّيْلِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ .

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم رات میں ( نفل ) نماز دو دو رکعت پڑھتے تھے۔
