Sunan Ibn Majah 1325

It was narrated that Muttalib that is, Ibn Abu Wada’ah said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘The night prayers are (to be offered) two by two. Say the Tashah-hud after each two Rak`ah, and raise your hands in all humility like one who is poor and needy and say: ‘Allāhummaghfir lī (O Allah, forgive me).’ And whoever does not do that, it is imperfect.’”

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا شَبَابَةُ بْنُ سَوَّارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ رَبِّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ أَبِي أَنَسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نَافِعِ ابْنِ الْعَمْيَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْمُطَّلِبِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي وَدَاعَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَتَشَهَّدُ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَتَبَاءَسُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَتَمَسْكَنُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَتُقْنِعُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَتَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَمَنْ لَمْ يَفْعَلْ ذَلِكَ فَهِيَ خِدَاجٌ .

مطلب بن ابی وداعہ ۱؎ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: رات کی نماز دو دو رکعت ہے، اور ہر دو رکعت کے بعد تشہد ہے، اور اللہ کے سامنے اپنی محتاجی و مسکینی ظاہر کرنا، اور اپنے دونوں ہاتھ اٹھا کر دعا مانگنا، اور کہنا ہے کہ اے اللہ! مجھ کو بخش دے، جو کوئی ایسا نہ کرے ( یعنی اپنی محتاجی اور فقر و فاقہ ظاہر نہ کرے تو ) اس کی نماز ناقص ہے ۔
