Sunan Ibn Majah 1334

It was narrated that ‘Abdullah bin Salam said: “When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came to Al-Madinah, the people rushed towards him and it was said: ‘The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) has come!’ I came along with the people to see him, and when I looked at the face of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), I realized that his face was not the face of a liar. The first thing he said was: “O people, spread (the greeting of) Salam, offer food to people and pray at night when people are sleeping, you will enter Paradise in peace.”

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ وَابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ وعبد الوهاب، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ ومحمد بن جعفر، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ أَبِي جَمِيلَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَلَامٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَمَّا قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏انْجَفَلَ النَّاسُ إِلَيْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقِيلَ:‏‏‏‏ قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَجِئْتُ فِي النَّاسِ لِأَنْظُرَ إِلَيْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمَّا اسْتَبَنْتُ وَجْهَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَرَفْتُ أَنَّ وَجْهَهُ لَيْسَ بِوَجْهِ كَذَّابٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَكَانَ أَوَّلَ شَيْءٍ تَكَلَّمَ بِهِ أَنْ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَفْشُوا السَّلَامَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَطْعِمُوا الطَّعَامَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَصَلُّوا بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّاسُ نِيَامٌ تَدْخُلُوا الْجَنَّةَ بِسَلَامٍ .

عبداللہ بن سلام رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم مدینہ آئے تو لوگ آپ کی طرف دوڑ پڑے، اور انہوں نے آپس میں ایک دوسرے سے کہا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم آئے ہیں، تو لوگوں کے ساتھ آپ کو دیکھنے کے لیے میں بھی آیا، جب میں نے کوشش کر کے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا چہرہ مبارک دیکھا، تو پہچان لیا کہ آپ کا چہرہ کسی جھوٹے کا چہرہ نہیں ہے، پہلی بات آپ نے جو کہی وہ یہ تھی کہ لوگو! سلام کو عام کرو، کھانا کھلاؤ، اور رات کو نماز پڑھو، جب کہ لوگ سوئے ہوں، تب تم جنت میں سلامتی کے ساتھ داخل ہو جاؤ گے ۔
