حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ سَأَلَ حَمْزَةُ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنِّي أَصُومُ أَفَأَصُومُ فِي السَّفَرِ؟، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنْ شِئْتَ فَصُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَأَفْطِرْ .

Urdu Translation

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ   حمزہ اسلمی رضی اللہ عنہ نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پوچھا: میں روزہ رکھتا ہوں تو کیا میں سفر میں بھی روزہ رکھوں؟ تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اگر چاہو تو رکھو، اور چاہو تو نہ رکھو ۔

English Translation

It was narrated that ‘Aishah said: “Hamzah Al-Aslami asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): ‘I am fasting, should I fast while traveling?’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘If you wish, then fast, and if you wish, then break your fast.’”
