It was narrated from ‘Abdul-Malik bin Minhal, from his father that: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to enjoin fasting the bright days – the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth (when the moon is full). He said: “It is like fasting for a lifetime.”

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ الْمِنْهَالِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَأْمُرُ بِصِيَامِ الْبِيضِ ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَخَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ هُوَ كَصَوْمِ الدَّهْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَوْ كَهَيْئَةِ صَوْمِ الدَّهْرِ .

منہال رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ایام بیض کے روزہ کے رکھنے کا حکم دیتے تھے یعنی تیرہویں، چودہویں، اور پندرہویں تاریخ کے روزے کا، اور فرماتے: یہ ہمیشہ روزہ رکھنے کے مثل ہے ۱؎۔
