It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that: the Prophet said: “A woman may be married for four things: Her wealth, her lineage, her beauty or for her religion. Choose the religious, may your hands be rubbed with dust (i.e., may you prosper).”

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ تُنْكَحُ النِّسَاءُ لِأَرْبَعٍ لِمَالِهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلِحَسَبِهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلِجَمَالِهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلِدِينِهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَاظْفَرْ بِذَاتِ الدِّينِ تَرِبَتْ يَدَاكَ .

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: عورتوں سے چار چیزوں کی وجہ سے شادی کی جاتی ہے، ان کے مال و دولت کی وجہ سے، ان کے حسب و نسب کی وجہ سے، ان کے حسن و جمال اور خوبصورتی کی وجہ سے، اور ان کی دین داری کی وجہ سے، لہٰذا تم دیندار عورت کا انتخاب کر کے کامیاب بنو، تمہارے ہاتھ خاک آلود ہوں ۔
