حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْحِزَامِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ وَيَحْيَى بْنُ حَبِيبِ بْنِ عَرَبِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ الْحَرَامِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ طَلْحَةَ بْنَ خِرَاشٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَال:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ لَمَّا قُتِلَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَرَامٍ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَقِيَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا جَابِرُ أَلَا أُخْبِرُكَ مَا قَالَ اللَّهُ لِأَبِيكَ؟ وَقَالَ يَحْيَى فِي حَدِيثِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا جَابِرُ مَا لِي أَرَاكَ مُنْكَسِرًا؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ اسْتُشْهِدَ أَبِي وَتَرَكَ عِيَالًا وَدَيْنًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَفَلَا أُبَشِّرُكَ بِمَا لَقِيَ اللَّهُ بِهِ أَبَاكَ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَا كَلَّمَ اللَّهُ أَحَدًا قَطُّ إِلَّا مِنْ وَرَاءِ حِجَابٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَكَلَّمَ أَبَاكَ كِفَاحًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا عَبْدِي تَمَنَّ عَلَيَّ أُعْطِكَ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَبِّ تُحْيِينِي فَأُقْتَلُ فِيكَ ثَانِيَةً، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ الرَّبُّ سُبْحَانَهُ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّهُ سَبَقَ مِنِّي أَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْهَا لَا يَرْجِعُونَ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَبِّ فَأَبْلِغْ مَنْ وَرَائِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى وَلا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَمْوَاتًا بَلْ أَحْيَاءٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ يُرْزَقُونَ سورة آل عمران آية 169.

Urdu Translation

جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   جب عبداللہ بن عمرو بن حرام غزوہ احد کے دن قتل کر دئیے گئے تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم مجھ سے ملے اور فرمایا: جابر! کیا میں تمہیں نہ بتاؤں کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے تمہارے والد سے کیا کہا ہے؟ ، ( اور یحییٰ بن حبیب راوی نے اپنی حدیث میں کہا کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جابر! میں تمہیں کیوں شکستہ دل دیکھتا ہوں؟ ) ، جابر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں: میں نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! میرے والد اللہ کی راہ میں قتل کر دئیے گئے، اور اہل و عیال اور قرض چھوڑ گئے ہیں، نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: کیا میں تمہیں اس چیز کی بشارت نہ دوں جسے اللہ تعالیٰ نے تمہارے والد سے ملاقات کے وقت کہا؟ ، جابر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: جی ہاں ضرور بتائیے اللہ کے رسول! آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اللہ تعالیٰ نے کبھی بھی کسی سے بغیر حجاب کے کلام نہیں کیا، لیکن تمہارے والد سے بغیر حجاب کے کلام کیا، اور فرمایا: میرے بندے! مجھ سے آرزو کر میں تجھے عطا کروں گا، اس پر انہوں نے کہا: میرے رب! میری آرزو یہ ہے کہ تو مجھے زندہ کر دے، اور میں تیری راہ میں دوبارہ قتل کیا جاؤں، تو اللہ سبحانہ و تعالیٰ نے فرمایا: یہ بات تو پہلے ہی ہماری جانب سے لکھی جا چکی ہے کہ لوگ دنیا میں دوبارہ واپس نہیں لوٹائے جائیں گے ۱؎، انہوں نے کہا: میرے رب! ان لوگوں کو جو دنیا میں ہیں میرے احوال کی خبر دیدے ، انہوں نے کہا: اس وقت اللہ تعالیٰ نے آیت کریمہ نازل فرمائی: «ولا تحسبن الذين قتلوا في سبيل الله أمواتا بل أحياء عند ربهم يرزقون» جو لوگ اللہ کی راہ میں قتل کیے گئے تم ان کو مردہ نہ سمجھو، بلکہ وہ زندہ ہیں، اپنے رب کے پاس روزی پاتے ہیں ( سورة آل عمران: ۱۶۹ ) ۲؎۔

English Translation

Talhah bin Khirash said: I head Jabir bin 'Abdullah say 'When 'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin )Haram) was killed on the Day of Uhud, the Messenger of Allah met me, and said: O Jabir, shall I not tell you what Allah has said to your father? Yahya said in his Hadith: And he said: 'O Jabir, why do I see you broken-hearted?' I (Jabir) said: 'O Messenger of Allah, my father has been martyred and he has left behind dependents and debts.' He said: 'Shall I not give you the glad tidings of that with which Allah met your father?' I said: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'Allah never spoke to anyone except from behind a screen, but He spoke to your father directly, and He said: O My slave! Ask something from Me and I shall give it to you. He said: O Lord, bring me back to life so that I may be killed in Your cause a second time. The Lord, Glorified is He, said: I have already decreed that they will not return to life. He said: My Lord, then convey (this news) to those whom I have left behind. Allah said: Think not of those as dead who are killed in the way of Allah, Nay, they are alive, with their Lord, and they have provision.
