حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي ثَوْرٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمِيرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْأَحْنَفِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُنْتُ بِالْبَطْحَاءِ فِي عِصَابَةٍ وَفِيهِمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَمَرَّتْ بِهِ سَحَابَةٌ فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَا تُسَمُّونَ هَذِهِ؟ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ السَّحَابُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَالْمُزْنُ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ وَالْمُزْنُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَالْعَنَانُ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَال أَبُو بَكْرٍ:‏‏‏‏ قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ وَالْعَنَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَمْ تَرَوْنَ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ؟ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ لَا نَدْرِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَإِنَّ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهَا إِمَّا وَاحِدًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَوِ اثْنَيْنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَوْ ثَلَاثًا وَسَبْعِينَ سَنَةً، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالسَّمَاءُ فَوْقَهَا كَذَلِكَ حَتَّى عَدَّ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ فَوْقَ السَّمَاءِ السَّابِعَةِ بَحْرٌ بَيْنَ أَعْلَاهُ وَأَسْفَلِهِ كَمَا بَيْنَ سَمَاءٍ إِلَى سَمَاءٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ فَوْقَ ذَلِكَ ثَمَانِيَةُ أَوْعَالٍ بَيْنَ أَظْلَافِهِنَّ وَرُكَبِهِنَّ كَمَا بَيْنَ سَمَاءٍ إِلَى سَمَاءٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ عَلَى ظُهُورِهِنَّ الْعَرْشُ بَيْنَ أَعْلَاهُ وَأَسْفَلِهِ كَمَا بَيْنَ سَمَاءٍ إِلَى سَمَاءٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ اللَّهُ فَوْقَ ذَلِكَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى .

Urdu Translation

عباس بن عبدالمطلب رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   میں ایک جماعت کے ہمراہ مقام بطحاء میں تھا، اور ان میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم بھی موجود تھے کہ بادل کا ایک ٹکڑا گزرا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس کی طرف دیکھا اور فرمایا: تم لوگ اس کو کیا کہتے ہو؟ ، لوگوں نے کہا: «سحاب»، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: «مزن» بھی؟ ، انہوں نے کہا: جی ہاں، «مزن» بھی، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: «عنان» بھی؟ ، لوگوں نے کہا: «عنان» بھی، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تم اپنے اور آسمان کے درمیان کتنا فاصلہ جانتے ہو؟ ، لوگوں نے کہا: ہم نہیں جانتے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تمہارے اور اس کے درمیان اکہتر ( ۷۱ ) ، بہتر ( ۷۲ ) ، یا تہتر ( ۷۳ ) سال کی مسافت ہے، پھر اس کے اوپر آسمان کی بھی اتنی ہی مسافت ہے ، یہاں تک کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اسی طرح سات آسمان شمار کیے، پھر فرمایا: ساتویں آسمان پر ایک سمندر ہے، اس کے نچلے اور اوپری حصہ کے درمیان اتنی ہی مسافت ہے جتنی کہ دو آسمانوں کے درمیان میں ہے، پھر اس کے اوپر آٹھ فرشتے پہاڑی بکروں کی طرح ہیں، ان کے کھروں اور گھٹنوں کے درمیان اتنی دوری ہے جتنی کہ دو آسمانوں کے درمیان ہے، پھر ان کی پیٹھ پر عرش ہیں، اس کے نچلے اور اوپری حصہ کے درمیان اتنی مسافت ہے جتنی کہ دو آسمانوں کے درمیان میں ہے، پھر اس کے اوپر اللہ تعالیٰ ہے جو بڑی برکت والا، بلند تر ہے ۱؎۔

English Translation

It was narrated that 'Abbas bin 'Abdul-Mutallib said: I was in Batha with a group of people, among them whom was the Messenger of Allah. A cloud passed over him, and he looked at it and said: 'What do you call this?' They said: 'Sahab (a cloud).' He said: 'And Muzn (rain cloud).' They said: 'And Muzn.' He said: 'And 'Anan (clouds).' Abu Bakr said: They said: 'And 'Anan.' He said: 'How much (distance) do you think there is between you and the heavens?' They said: 'We do not know.' He said: 'Between you and it is seventy-one, or seventy-two, or seventy-three years, and there is a similar distance between it and the heaven above it (and so on)' until he counted seven heavens. 'Then above the seventh heaven there is a sea, between whose top and bottom is a distance like that between one heaven and another. Then above that there are eight (angels in the form of) mountain goats. The distance between their hooves and their knees is like the distance between one heaven and the next. Then on their backs is the Throne, and the distance between the top and the bottom of the Throne is like the distance between one heaven and another. Then Allah is above that, the Blessed and Exalted.
